Poker in 2016, everybody is SOLID

Lately I have been thinking.. and wanted to make a post so here I go.

How bad is it really that poker gets tougher and tougher?
Games are not like 2009? You don't win so much money anymore?
You have to work more, to be more serious about it, you don't have room for (m)any mistakes and so on...

Is this really a bad thing? For me the answer is NO. If you don't realize it yet, poker getting tougher is the best thing ever happening to you. Why?

Well...

Back in the day people were lazy, eating whatever they find, doing whatever they want whenever they want, playing drunk, regularly playing out of their bankroll and doing all kind of stupid shit, with bad mental state, but they still won money. It's not like this anymore and even if you don't win so much now or you don't do it so easily - this is not a bad thing!

Me, you and we in general made progress. Because of all of this we are smarter now, since to stay in the game we had to evolve. In this moment all of us here are in a great place where you have the potential to become the best version of you. Not only in poker but in life. In this community you can ask good question you like and will get quality response. When you surround yourself with people who want to be better you will be better. We care about the food we eat, we train our bodies, we have discipline, we work hard, we make .gifs (or jorgi does:D) we ask the question how be better at something all the time, we are eager to improve, we have goals, we work on mental game and you realize that you can't have good poker results if you life in general is bad because you make bad choices there. We think more about everything now and we make better decisions in life.

Of course this is not 100% true for everyone but in general the % of people like this now is way more than back in the day. If you look at the top of the chain now you will see quality people who care and can discuss deep topics, not some degenerate stuff.

We survived because we evolved and we evolved because of the tougher conditions we have to deal. My guess is that if poker was the same as back in the day, you wouldn't be even close to the person you are right now... or I might be wrong. For me personally I'm very happy about this opportunity to be in surroundings which will make me better in everything and go to the next level in life.

So badgers, I don't know if you ever thought about this from this point of view but poker getting tougher in recent years is the best thing ever happened to you (or at least for me).
